We want to bring to your attention to some important details that will help all of us make things run smoothly. Please help us by following some simple directions so we can give you the best Salsa Convention ever!
1) CONTACT INFO:
The Directors of each team are responsible for contacting the MSC committee for any information on their teams. Please ask your team members not to contact us directly. ALL questions or inquiries should come from the team's director.
2) PERFORMANCE DATES:
All teams selected need to be available to PERFORM as of THURSDAY May 17th to SUNDAY May 20th, 2018. NO EXCEPTIONS.
ALL teams need to APPLY and SEND your VIDEO by FEBRUARY 1st, 2018 (No exceptions). If your team is selected, to benifit from early bird prices you MUST REGISTER and INCLUDE the PAYMENT by March 15th, 2017. 4) MUSIC LENGTH:
Please note the MAXIMUM LENGTH for YOUR CHOREOGRAPHY is 4 MINS for a GROUP and 3 MINS for a COUPLE. PLEASE RESPECT THIS RESTRICTION! Also please keep the routines at 80% SALSA. The final music must be given to the backstage manager at the event on a CD AND A USB key.
Please remember that your costumes, performances and your music should be appropriate for all ages. There will be young performers attending this event. No jeans please.
Final performance schedules and rehearsal times will be determined about two weeks before the convention. Please make it a point to know when and where you need to be, and of course, be on time.
7) TECH REHEARSAL:
Please note that this year there will be no tech rehearsals. The stage is at Complexe Desjardins and is exposed to the public during the entire weekend.
8) WHAT TO BRING ON PERFORMANCE NIGHT:
Bring at least two (2) CDs & a USB key with only the music of your performance on them. If the CD has more than your performance music, it will not be accepted. When mixing the performance music on your CDs, please mix it on different brands of CDs. Some equipment does not read all the brands of CDs out in the market today.
9) DEFINITION OF DANCERS STATUS:

* The definition of a dancer’s status will be determined between the respective school director and the MSC. The final decision of one’s status rests solely on MSC.

ONLY performers are given a special rate for the MSC pass. Team members not performing are not entitled to this special rate.
ALL amateur and semi-pro dancers must purchase a DANCER’S PASS ( please refer to your school's director for prices) which gives them full access to the entire event. The deadline is May 1st for payment. Replacement of a lost pass will cost $50 CDN.
Should the dancer decide not to perform after having paid the amount mentioned above, the amount paid is non-refundable. If this dancer wishes to attend any Convention activities without performing, they must purchase the necessary ticket at regular price.
The directors of troupes or schools may be honored a complimentary pass. Please contact Sonia Kyriacou on this matter. Meanwhile, passes (if any) for Pro dancers will be arranged between the directors and MSC.
11) RELEASE AND CONSENT:
Please be forewarned that you will have to checkmark the “release and consent” box when completing the purchase of your performer pass.
We appreciate your participation and thank you again for your commitment!
